2017 Taxes: Free Tax Preparation Clinics, March & April 2018

The following information is made available by the Burlington Age Friendly Council


The following are available for individuals whose 2016 income does not exceed $30,000 for singles, $40,000 for couples; including not more than $1,000 interest income.

Clinics do not complete returns for tax situations involving any of the following:


  • Self employed or have employment expenses
  • Business or rental income and expenses
  • Capital gains or losses
  • Filed for bankruptcy
  • Tax return for a person who is deceased

What to bring to tax clinics:

  • all tax forms, last year’s Notice of Assessment from Canada Revenue Agency, rent/property tax receipts, and medical receipts if over 3% of income

*Drop off documents during clinic hours only (volunteers must be present)

Mondays, March 5th to April 30th: 9:30 am-3:00 pm

Clinics are likely to be less busy after 10 am, when initial   rush is over
Note there is no indoor waiting space at Central Library prior to 9:00 am

* Adult clients must attend in person

    Canada Revenue Agency can provide some help and answer questions by phone, Toll-free 1-800-959-8281
    *Clients must meet eligibility criteria
  3. Links2Care (Georgetown office) provides year-round tax filing assistance for people with low income * can backfile returns for up to 10 years (paper filing, rather than electronic) * contact Brenda at Links2Care 1-866-920-6502 * do not need to be existing Links2Care client or live in Georgetown, but the paper filing service is available only at the Georgetown office * electronic filing service is available for current year only by dropping off tax information to Oakville office.
