CARP Halton Chapter Community Meetings in April “Protect Your Health”

You are invited to join CARP Halton Chapter for our Community Meetings in April where we have invited Marlene Peitch from the Heart and Stroke Foundation who will give a talk entitled “Protect Your Health” with the focus on heart health and stroke prevention.

Marlene is a former Registered Nurse, airline purser, event planner, and medical office administrator. Currently she is enjoying a career as a Realtor where she specializes in working with Seniors (and their families) relocating or transitioning to retirement communities. As a Senior’s advocate and stroke survivor she has found her niche in representing the Heart and Stroke Foundation which gives her the opportunity to engage with many members of the community. Marlene and her husband live in Oakville and are happy empty nesters.

Our Milton meeting will take place on Wednesday April 11th beginning at 6.30pm at the Seniors Activity Centre, 500 Childs Drive, Milton.

Our Burlington meeting will take place on Thursday April 26th beginning at 6.30pm at the Seniors Centre, 2285 New Street, Burlington.

Doors will open at both locations at 6.30pm with the main meeting taking place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Coffee and tea will be available. In addition Chartwell Retirement Residence will be supplying treats at our Burlington meeting. We would like to thank them on behalf of everyone in attendance for their generosity.

The meetings will begin with a short welcoming address from our Chapter President Tom Carrothers. Tom will also provide a brief update on your CARP Halton Chapter and CARP National activities.

This will be followed by our important presentation.

There will be a break at the midway point which will allow time to socialize with fellow members and to visit our sponsors. Burlington Memorial Gardens will sponsor both meetings and Don “Condo Don” Bassindale will be at our Burlington meeting. We encourage you to chat with our sponsors and gather more information about the services they provide. Halton Chapter thanks our sponsors for their support at all of our meetings.

Burlington Memorial Gardens: Established in 1979, Burlington Memorial Gardens features over 100 acres of beautifully landscaped and immaculately manicured gardens. Part of the Arbor group of cemeteries and funeral homes, the property is part of the historic Niagara Escarpment.

Don “Condo Don” Bassindale: Helping Seniors find their ideal home.

Both meetings will conclude with a few closing remarks from Tom and our 50/50 draw. We encourage you to support this draw as proceeds help defray the costs incurred in putting on our meetings. Plus if you are the lucky winner at Burlington you will typically take home over $110.

Our meetings are FREE. All are welcome. Please support CARP Halton Chapter. We look forward to meeting our members and friends.
