CARP Halton Chapter ZOOM Meeting: Strategies to Increase Income Longevity and Manage Risk

CARP Halton Chapter are very pleased to announce our next virtual meeting using the ZOOM platform. This will be held in the afternoon on Thursday September 24th from 2.00pm to 3.00pm. You will find details on how to join the meeting below.

For this meeting as our guest speaker will be our CARP Board volunteer Noreen Oldfield. Noreen’s presentation will focus on:

Mastering Your Retirement: Strategies to increase income longevity and manage risk

The Oldfield Team has been providing financial planning and advice in Halton for over 17 years. They specialize in inter-generational planning and wealth transfer, with a special focus on tax savings strategies. Noreen Oldfield completed an honours science degree at Laurentian University. She spent her early career in healthcare as a marketing manager for pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Creating business plans for life saving medical technology was very rewarding, but after the birth of her daughter Tia in 2014, Noreen decided to join her husband Kirk at IG Wealth Management where she could work more directly with people putting her planning expertise to work for families in the community. Noreen is MFDA and insurance licensed. Her team provides full-service planning for retirement, tax and estate, insurance, investments, debt and cash flow management. She has significant experience working with the seniors’ community and their families. Outside of her family and running their business, Noreen volunteers whatever time she can find to her position on the Board of Directors of CARP Halton Chapter.

Noreen’s talk will discuss various strategies to structure your assets in a way that increases the longevity of your retirement savings. Often small adjustments can make a significant difference in reducing tax, protecting against inflation and managing volatility. We will discuss the various types of retirement income and how to optimize withdrawals. How to effectively use types of retirement accounts to manage taxes. How to properly diversify your assets, including the pros and cons of various investment options, and how to use them, for example:

  • Annuities and other insurance options
  • Guaranteed Investments
  • Capital Market Investments

At the end of this talk you will have learned what changes you need to make to your retirement income structure and investments, if any, to optimize your portfolio for the long run. Giving you the confidence you need, even in volatile times like we have seen this year.

Our virtual ZOOM meeting will take place on Thursday September 24th from 2.00pm to 3.00pm.
