Tax Returns Information Session with CRA: Income Tax, Benefits, Credits and Emergency Response Benefits.

Our friends at C.A.R.P. Newfoundland are inviting all C.A.R.P. members to participate in a virtual information session for seniors that they have arranged with the Canada Revenue Agency(CRA).

Here is their invitation with details on how to join in.

This will be a virtual offering and internet access will be required.

Once the New Year happens, our thoughts often turn to the dread of filing our annual tax return. Once again, C.A.R.P. NL has engaged with representatives from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to host an information session for seniors on income tax, benefits, credits and emergency response benefits. This year, this topic is more than timely as some folks are worried about the impact of the emergency response benefit(s) they may have received, how it will impact their taxes and what impact there might be on income levels, especially GIS and OAS payments, on a go forward basis. In addition to addressing this concern, other topics that will be addressed include common types of income, credits and deductions such as GST/HST credit, disability tax credit, pension income splitting, medical expenses, etc.  CRA will also provide information on how to file your income tax and benefit return, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, online services and answer general questions you might have.

Following the presentation, there will be time for questions and answers.

When: Wednesday, March 2, 2022

Time:  2:00 – 4:00 PM

Everyone is welcome for this most timely presentation as our thoughts and actions are now focused on completion of our 2021 tax returns.
