CARP Halton Chapter Evening Community Meetings in March

“The Longevity Code: 7 Habits for a Healthier, Stronger You,” 

CARP Halton Chapter will be pleased to welcome Dr. Dave Harper to speak at our evening community meetings in March. His presentation, titled “The Longevity Code: 7 Habits for a Healthier, Stronger You,” “The Longevity Code: 7 Habits for a Healthier, Stronger You,” explores actionable strategies to improve health and vitality at every stage of life and to help manage stress that directly impacts seniors!

As usual we will be holding two evening meetings, one in Halton North on Tuesday March 11th and one in Halton South on Thursday March 27th. Our Halton North meeting will be held at the Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead Drive (Derry and Farmstead) in Milton. Our Halton South meeting will be held at the Seniors Centre at 2285 New Street, Burlington.

Dr Harper will cover key topics, including:

  • A discussion about the triggers for stress including:  changing living conditions, food insecurity, cognitive function and decline including dementia, the stress of isolation, the stress of loss…and then ways to manage these challenges….

He will also discuss the following as some of the solutions for minimizing the impact of these real and significant issues.  

  • The critical role of sleep, nutrition, and movement in optimizing health
  • Simple and sustainable practices for managing stress and enhancing emotional resilience, including mindfulness and gratitude.
  • The science behind the vagus nerve and how it is directly impacted by community, and how it supports longevity through emotional and physical balance.  
  • Workshop demonstrations on how to reduce anxiety and create calm in any situations using breath.

Dr. Harper’s goal is to empower attendees to become the “CEO of their health” and inspire them to take proactive steps toward greater well-being.

Dr. Dave’s Bio

David Harper is a father, speaker, author, functional medicine and functional neurology practitioner, nutritionist and Sports Specialist Chiropractor. 

David is convinced that that each person can be their own best HERO of their own life and is committed to helping others embrace their own value and worth and support them as they awaken their deep healing through the use of clean diets, optimal lifestyles and regular milestone performance-based biomarkers that lead to opportunities for transformation.

David is a Maverick personality and invites like-minded fellow humans who share their wild side to join with him to bring humanity to a higher level of vitality and longevity; to make a positive difference in this crazy world; and lead by example.  He is an advocate for seeing each become the best version of themselves and participating in lending that optimistic voice of hope and healing to their families and communities.

This presentation builds on the information that has been presented at our earlier meetings. We think you will agree that this will be a very valuable presentation for all of our members and friends. Please plan to join us at either location

Our Halton North meeting will be held in Milton on Tuesday March 11th at the Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead Drive, (Derry and Farmstead).

Our Halton South meeting will be held in Burlington on Thursday March 27th at the Seniors Centre at 2285 New Street.

Doors will open at both locations at 6.30pm, the program will start at 7.00pm and will wrap up around 8.45pm

At the Milton location most visitors will be able to park in the visitor parking areas on site. Additional street parking is also available nearby on Farmstead.

Light refreshments, coffee, tea and treats, will be available at both meetings. At Milton refreshments will be provided by the Birkdale Retirement Residence. We thank the management and staff for their generosity.

Our meetings will begin with a short welcoming address and a brief update on your CARP Halton Chapter activities. This will be followed by our featured presentation.

There will be a break at the midway point which will allow time to socialize with fellow members and to visit our sponsors.

Our meetings will conclude around 8.45pm with a few closing remarks and our 50/50 draw. We encourage you to support this draw as proceeds help defray the costs incurred in putting on our meetings.
