CARP Halton Chapter invites you to join us at our evening community meetings in November.  As usual there will be two evening meetings, one in Halton North on November 10th and one in Halton South on November 26th. Due to scheduling conflicts there will be different presentations at these two locations. At our Halton South meeting we will feature a presentation by Ontario Health atHome details for which are announced separately on this website. Please feel free to join us at either or both locations.

Our Halton North community meeting will be held in Milton on Tuesday November 10th at the Venvi Birkdale Retirement Living Residence, 611 Farmstead Drive, (Derry and Farmstead).

For this meeting we will be pleased to welcome Danielle Kamerman BNSc, RN, Founder and Lead Consultant of Intandem Senior Care Consulting. and Steve Kelly from Always Best Care – Senior Services

The presentation will focus on:

Staying Independent, Safe and Supported at Home

The goal of this presentation is to help older adults understand how planning practical support at home and fall prevention can work together to preserve independence.

We will discuss navigating resources, implementing solutions and preventing the further risks such as falls.  We will offer free, personalized falls risk screening using a Balance Tracking System.

Each person will leave with practical recommendations based on their results.

The screenings are educational and don’t replace a clinical assessment.

Doors will open at 6.30pm, the program will start at 7.00pm with a brief welcoming address and an update on CARP and Halton Chapter activities.

Light refreshments, coffee, tea and treats, will be available. Refreshments will be provided by the Birkdale Retirement Residence. We thank the management and staff for their generosity.

There will be a break at the midway point which will allow time to socialize with fellow members.

We will wrap up around 8.45pm in order to be out of our meeting space by 9.00pm. This will allow staff time to close up after our meeting has ended.

Our meeting will conclude with a few closing remarks and our 50/50 draw. We encourage you to support this draw as proceeds help defray the costs incurred in putting on our meetings.
