With close to 5000 members Halton Chapter is seeking volunteers to help enhance the benefits available to C.A.R.P. members in our region. VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS
GROUP BENEFITS Manager
Volunteer Reports to: Director Community Engagement
Summary:
The Group benefits coordinator will solicit local business to partner with C.A.R.P. to offer group discounts, benefits etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research potential partners that would be attractive to our membership
- Approach business with benefits offer
- Follow-up to establish relationship and contract for benefits
- Manage benefits members, needs, renewals, communications
- Recruits other group benefits coordinators to assist in solicitation, admin as required
Requirements
- Must have experience and comfort approaching business owners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organization and time management
- Can enthusiastically convey the benefits of partnering with C.A.R.P. as a benefit provider
Time Commitment: Approx. 8 hours per week
Communication Manager
Volunteer Reports to: Director Community Engagement
Summary:
Builds relationship with local media and creates C.A.R.P. local presence. Creates communication pieces for the Chapter including Press Releases, social media content supporting advocacy news, sponsorship promotion, membership promotions etc. Communications plan for C.A.R.P. members, to make sure they are aware of Chapter activities and encourage them to renew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates and executes a communications plan for the local C.A.R.P. Chapter
- Helps develop and bring awareness to membership promotions
- Researches opportunities for ad placement and RoI for ads
- Creates communication pieces to membership on Advocacy goals and accomplishments
- Helps build awareness for community events
Requirements
- Experience with creating and executing promotional / advertising campaigns
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Experience writing articles and press releases
- Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
- Superior project management and time management skills
- A wide degree of creativity
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media and how to build awareness
Time Commitment: Approx. 8 hours per week
Event Coordinator
Volunteer Reports to: Director Community Engagement
Summary:
Researches previous and new events that would be advantageous for C.A.R.P. to attend. Tradeshows, seniors events, etc. Creates annual calendar of events. Contacts partners and organizations to book speaking events for the Director of Community Engagement. Plans and organizes the occasional member event.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, plan, and execute a variety of both internal and external events. Oversee all aspects of event planning and management, including identifying and working with a variety of external venues/facilities, negotiating contracts with vendors, and maintaining and managing event budgets.
