C.A.R.P. Halton Chapter Community Meetings Resume in September

It Will Be Good to be Back!!

C.A.R.P. Halton Chapter In-person Community Meetings Begin Again in September

After a long two years of COVID disruptions Halton Chapter is delighted to announce that our in-person community meetings will begin again in September. Burlington meetings will once again be held on the 4th Thursday of the month at the Seniors Centre on New Street. Milton meetings will also be held on our usual date of the 2nd Wednesday of the month but please note we have a new location. We are very pleased to announce that the Revera Birkdale Retirement Living centre at Derry and Farmstead will host our Milton Meetings. Revera will also provide refreshments, coffee, tea and treats, at these meetings. Halton Chapter would like to thank the management and staff at Revera for their generosity.

Given our long absence we have decided to kick things off with a social evening. Our program director is busily arranging a variety of presentations and speakers on topics of interest to our demographic for future meetings and these will be announced as details are firmed up.  But for September we have arranged for a light hearted evening with treats and entertainment to provide our members and friends the opportunity to meet, mingle and generally get reacquainted. For our enjoyment we will have a singer at both locations who will not only entertain with a repertoire of well known and easy listening songs and music but will also invite us to sing along….and maybe even get us on our feet and dancing.

We are very much looking forward to getting back to normal and to once again meeting everyone at our community meetings. Our first Milton meeting will be held on Wednesday September 14th with the Burlington meeting on Thursday September 22nd. Please plan to join us at either location. We look forward to your support.

As mentioned, our Milton meeting will be held at the Revera Birkdale Retirement Living location at Derry and Farmstead. Some visitor parking is available on site with street parking also available on Farmstead. This is a retirement home therefore masks are mandatory and must be worn by everyone at all times while on the premises. Visitors will also be required to follow COVID testing protocols. Doors will open at 6.30pm and our meeting will begin at 7.00pm. We suggest attendees arrive early to allow time for the COVID procedures.  Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Neil Huab.  Neil is an accomplished musician who is well known in Mississauga where he regularly provides live entertainment at local parties, various events and special occasions.

The Burlington Seniors Centre is located at 2285 New St. Doors will open at 6.30pm with the meeting set to begin at 7.00pm. Masks are optional but will not be mandatory for this meeting. Coffee and tea will be available with the help of local volunteers. More volunteer help with the refreshments at Burlington would be greatly appreciated. Treats for this meeting will be provided by the local Revera Retirement homes and again we thank them for their support and generosity.

Martin Pangan will be our entertainer at Burlington. Martin has entertained at a number of our previous events and if they are anything to go by, he will soon have us singing along with him.

Your volunteer board members are really looking forward to seeing our old friends and to welcoming many new ones as we embark on our new season of community engagement. Please join us at either location:

Milton: Wednesday September 14th, 6.30 to 9.00pm, Revera Birkdale Retirement Living Centre, Derry Rd and Farmstead.

Burlington: Thursday September 22nd, 6.30 to 9.00pm, Seniors Centre, 2285 New St

Meetings will begin with a short welcoming address by Chapter president Tom Carrothers and a brief update on your C.A.R.P. Halton Chapter activities. This will be followed by our evening’s entertainment

There will be a break at the midway point which will allow time to socialize with fellow members and to visit our sponsors. We encourage you to chat with them and learn about the services they provide.

Our sponsors at Burlington will be:

Always Best Care: At Always Best Care our mission is to help individuals live safely in their home with comfort, independence, dignity and joy.

Our meetings are FREE. All are welcome. We look forward to your support of C.A.R.P. Halton Chapter as we get our Community meetings back to normal. We look forward to meeting our members and friends.
