As you know the Ontario Provincial election is scheduled for February 27th, This being the fourth Thursday in the month would normally be the date for our Halton South community meeting at the Burlington Seniors Centre. However the Seniors Centre will be one of the polling stations and will therefore not be available for us. Regrettably we have not been able to find an alternative and we will not be able to hold our meeting in Halton South this month.
We will be holding our normal meeting in Halton North on February 11th and as you will see elsewhere on this website we are delighted to announce that we will be starting monthly daytime meetings in Burlington beginning on February 20th.
Our normal monthly community meeting schedule will resume in March along with our new daytime meetings. As usual details for these meetings will be announced in this newsletter and on our website.
As noted above will be holding our regular monthly meeting in Halton North. This meeting will be held on Tuesday February 11th at the Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead Drive (Derry and Farmstead) in Milton
For this meeting we will once again welcome one of our most popular speakers, Dr Sean Fletch of BeyondSports in Mississauga, who spoke at both our September and January meetings. If you were at one of those meetings you will know that these meetings went well over the allocated time as attendees wanted more information and had numerous questions.
For our February meeting Dr. Fletch will be doing a short recap of his new year initiatives and will focus on a town hall type Q&A. Please plan to join us as this meeting is intended to be more interactive so people can bring their questions and concerns. If you would like more information about Dr. Fletch and his earlier presentations, please click HERE.
Our Halton North meeting will be held in Milton on Tuesday February 11th at the Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead Drive, (Derry and Farmstead).
Doors will open at 6.30pm, the program will start at 7.00pm and will wrap up around 8.45pm
Most visitors will be able to park in the visitor parking areas on site. Additional street parking is also available nearby on Farmstead.
Light refreshments, coffee, tea and treats, will be available at both meetings. Refreshments will be provided by the Birkdale Retirement Residence. We thank the management and staff for their generosity.
Our meeting will begin with a short welcoming address and a brief update on your CARP Halton Chapter activities. This will be followed by our featured presentation.
There will be a break at the midway point which will allow time to socialize with fellow members.
Our meeting will conclude around 8.45pm with a few closing remarks and our 50/50 draw. We encourage you to support this draw as proceeds help defray the costs incurred in putting on our meetings.
This meeting is FREE and is open to everyone. All are welcome. We look forward to your support of our Community Meetings as we continue into 2025. The topic of these meetings we believe will be of vital importance to our seniors demographic. We look forward to meeting our members and friends.
