Understanding Home and Community Care Services.
CARP Halton Chapter will be kicking off our next season of community meetings in September with a most timely presentation on Home and Community Care Services in Halton.
As usual will be holding two community meetings, one in Halton North on September 12th and one in Halton South on September 28th. Our Halton North meeting will be held at the Revera Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead (Derry and Farmstead) in Milton. Our Halton South meeting will be held at the Seniors Centre at 2285 New Street, Burlington.
The theme of our presentation at these meetings will be “Understanding Home and Community Care Services”.
As Canadian seniors get older many will want to stay in their own homes for as long as they possibly can. Many will need extra help in order to do that.
But how do you find out what help is available in your community?
And more importantly how do you gain access to those services?
The home care system can be confusing. Our presentation will answer those questions. If you want to stay in your home, many resources, supports, and options are available.
For the first meeting of our 2023/24 season we will have a speaker who will help us understand what is available and who will explain how we can access the services and help we need.
Our speaker will be Alissa Oliver, who is a Registered Practical Nurse with Acclaim Health. Alissa joins us to help us understand the Home Care System. She will give a presentation dedicated to helping families navigate through accessing the services they need to live well at home. She will be talking about Home and Community Care, discuss the difference between Retirement homes and long term care including the application process. She will answer all your burning questions on how to best access the services your need
Acclaim Health is a registered charity providing extraordinary community care and support in Halton Region for over 90 years. Our goal is to provide the care people need to live well at home for as long as possible. Each year we care for 28,000+ clients in Halton, two thirds of whom were over the age of 65.
Please plan to join us at either location. CARP Halton Chapter believes that the information you will take away from this presentation will be very beneficial for all seniors.
We look forward to seeing our members and friends at this important presentation.
