CARP Halton Chapter Meeting in Burlington “Protecting Yourself from Frauds and Scams”

Fraudsters and Scammers continue to prey on seniors throughout Halton Region. You can never have too much information on how to protect yourself. So please join us for our Community Meeting in Burlington where we have invited Halton Regional Police to present new and updated information on the latest scams and frauds. People are losing money to smooth talking & email fraudsters every day of the week. They are very professional sounding and have their dialogue rehearsed to sound like legitimate business people, bankers, Revenue Canada agents, or police officers. The more you know the better prepared you can be to thwart these attacks.

Constable Sarah McCullagh will be the presenter at our Burlington meeting. This will take place on Thursday February 22nd beginning at 6.30pm at the Seniors Centre, 2285 New Street, Burlington.

Doors will open at 6.30pm with the main meeting taking place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Coffee and tea will be available. In addition Chartwell Retirement Residence will be supplying treats for this meeting. We would like to thank them on behalf of everyone in attendance for their generosity.
