We would like to share the following information from the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery.
For Alzheimer Awareness Month, ServiceOntario is reaching out to organizations serving seniors to build awareness of the Ontario Photo Card. The OPC is an important resource for patients facing a new diagnosis of dementia, or other medical conditions that impact their ability to drive. It can also be an appropriate alternative form of ID for many Ontarians who may not have access to a driver’s license, such as people with disabilities, urban youth, new immigrants, and more.
The OPC is a form of government-issued photo identification that can be used to support important transactions in Ontarians’ daily lives, such as banking and financial transactions, access to community programs, and domestic travel. It’s easy to apply for an OPC through ServiceOntario if you’re sixteen years or older and don’t have a driver’s license.
Printable fact sheets (of the above) with essential information about the OPC are available in English and French
