Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, is a common challenge for older adults and/or individuals with conditions such Alzheimer’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease or after a stroke. Without proper assessment and support, dysphagia can increase the risk of malnutrition and choking.
Presented in partnership with Nestle Health Sciences, this one hour webinar will discuss the features and causes of dysphagia, how to recognize signs of swallowing difficulties and how and where to get help. Participants will have a chance to ask questions to a Speech-Language Pathologist from SE Health and gain tips on how to manage dysphagia.
