C.A.R.P. Halton Chapter”s in person community meetings resumed in both Milton and Burlington in September after the long absence due to the COVID pandemic. Deciding on a social evening with entertainment that would allow members and friends both the opportunity to mingle and generally get reacquainted proved to be a huge success. Martin Huab, seen below, who is an accomplished musician from Mississauga. entertained over 40 attendees at our Milton meeting and soon had the crowd singing along as he went through his repertoire of well-known songs.
We also have a new location for our Milton meetings. The Revera Retirement Living Residence at Derry Rd and Farmstead were our hosts and provided excellent facilities and delicious refreshments. Revera will continue to host our monthly meetings and Halton Chapter would like to thank the management and staff for their generosity. In the photos below you can see the excellent facilities that were made available along with the 40 or so people enjoying the evening.
An excellent all round evening ended around 8.45 with a few closing remarks and the prize draws. First up was the 50/50 draw and Mary Lou Graham was the lucky winner of $52. Revera donated a $50 Shoppers Drug Mart gift card the lucky winner of that being local resident Flora Zulian.
After the success of our opening meeting in Milton next up was Burlington. Our Burlington meetings resumed at the usual location of the Burlington Seniors Centre on New Street. Again we were very pleased to see 45 people in attendance.
Martin Pangan, who many will know from his earlier performances for us, was our entertainer and true to form soon had everyone joining in and singing along with him. Martin is seen below alongside Halton Chapter board member Noreen Oldfield who was our leader for the evening. Noreen had previously chaired the Milton meeting.
Refreshments for this meeting were provided by the Revera Residences in Burlington and in the photo below you can see the attendees enjoying the evening. We were very pleased to welcome our sponsors, Always Best Care, Burlington Memorial Gardens and Marion Goard, Broker, Keller Wiliams Edge Realty and Halton Chapter would like to thank everyone for their support.
After what we hope was an enjoyable evening for everyone the Burlington meeting also concluded with our 50/50 draw. Margaret, seen in the photo on the right above was the winner taking home $51.
Your volunteer board at C.A.R.P. Halton Chapter would like to thank everyone for coming to our first in person meetings and we look forward to your continued support as we continue these meetings throughout the coming months.
