As we often do for our community meetings in November CARP Halton Chapter has arranged an evening of entertainment for both our Halton North and Halton South meetings. Our program director is busily arranging a variety of presentations and speakers which will begin again in January following our break for the upcoming holiday season. Future meetings will be announced in this newsletter and on our website as details are firmed up. But for November we hope you will join us at either or both locations to enjoy a light hearted evening with treats and entertainment and to take the opportunity to meet and mingle with your fellow members and friends.
Our Halton North meeting will be held in Milton on Tuesday November 11th at the Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead Drive, (Derry and Farmstead). Visitor parking is available on site with street parking also available on Farmstead.
Our Halton South meeting will be held in Burlington on Thursday November 27th at the Seniors Centre at 2285 New Street.
At our Milton meeting we will once again welcome Martin Pangan who will be our entertainer for the evening. Martin is an accomplished musician who has entertained us at a number of our previous events. He is well known in Halton where he regularly provides live entertainment at local parties, various events and special occasions. Martin will entertain us with his repertoire of well known and easy listening music and song and will soon have us clapping and singing along with him…..and maybe on our feet and dancing!
At Burlington we will be pleased to welcome The Abba Tribute Group who will recreate the experience of ABBA – often thought of as the greatest pop band of all time. This group comes to us from JV Music for Seniors which is an entertainment agency specializing in the unique needs of our seniors Community. Established in 2012, JV Music for Seniors has built a reputation for delivering the highest quality entertainment.
JV entertainers stand out from other seniors entertainers with their extensive knowledge of a wide range of musical genres. Coupled with their upbeat performance style and the sound of the whole group these immersive, costumed impersonators have a genuine passion for sharing their gifts with older adults.
Doors will open at both locations at 6.30pm, the program will start at 7.00pm and will wrap up around 8.45pm. We must be out of our meeting spaces by 9.00pm to allow staff time to close up after our meetings have ended
Light refreshments, coffee, tea and treats, will be available at both meetings. At Milton refreshments will be provided by the Birkdale Retirement Residence. We thank the management and staff for their generosity.
Our meetings will begin with a short welcoming address and a brief update on your CARP Halton Chapter activities. There will be a break at the midway point which will allow time to socialize with fellow members and to visit our sponsors.
We will conclude with a few closing remarks and our 50/50 draw. We encourage you to support this draw as proceeds help defray the costs incurred in putting on our meetings.
